Mission Statement
Arataki Ministries exists to provide services to people with disabilities in a style that supports development of individual living skills in a supportive and encouraging manner with a Christian flavour.Our services
Arataki Ministries commenced operations in 1991 and is a work of the Whangarei Central Baptist Trust. It has six main areas of support for people recovering from a major mental illness:Arataki House: accomodation and rehabilitation services for 8 clients in a group of flats in Whangarei. The service offers 24 hour support to the residents.
Arataki Support: Staff work with clients who live in their own accommodation. We support the mental, physical, social, cultural and spiritual needs of a person. This service is for 101 clients in Whangarei and Kaipara districts.
Transitions: Assists clients living in MH residential rehabilitation facilities in Whangarei to move into the community.
Packages of Care: is designed to provide a high level of individualised support to 15 clients in the Whangarei and Kaipara communities.
Elias House: is a specialist Whangarei community based intensive residential (flats) rehabilitation service for 6 clients who would otherwise spend long times in the acute mental health ward and who need 24 support.
Consumer Networkers: its purpose is to develop and maintain a network of consumers across Te Tai Tokerau. Networking is done in association with Te Taitokerau Tangata Whaiora Network (TTTWON). Because our staff have diverse experiences of life and nationally recognised qualifications they are able to offer empathy and encouragement to Arataki Ministries clients. Our Staff are trained in supporting people in the community and include Registered Nurses, Social Workers and other qualified Support Staff (NZ Cert MH Support).Contact Us
