Our Vision
Our Church will be at the forefront of building and growing "positive faith experiences" amongst the people of Whangarei.
Core Values & Beliefs
To proclaim Jesus, serve others, grow in Christ, join in fellowship and to worship God.
Purpose
To win one more for Jesus.
Mission
We will raise hope and build faith by demonstrating the love of God when serving the people of our community.
Our History
Our church was started in 1903 with a small group of enthusiastic and enterprising members. A building was soon erected, and is incorporated into our current building today, as part of our hall. Over the years the church has sent a steady stream of missionaries to various parts of the globe, as well as sending people to Carey Baptist College for training for ministry.
A focus on young people and camping has always been part of the church, and so in 1951 the Manaia Camp Site was purchased, and is used for camps by our youth and older folk, as well as by schools and other community groups. Community service has been a significant part of our church family, with the founding of Regent Training Centre to help unemployed young people (now sold), and Arataki Ministries to help mental health clients, Toy Library to serve lower income families in the community, 4Cs to care for the elderly and lonely,
Cityouth to care for high school students, and some other smaller groups with specific focuses. We have planted other churches over the years, and supported in various ways all the other Baptist churches in Northland. We have a vision to grow in the future, and have increased our staff, and we are also currently upgrading our buildings.
